The Truvativ Descendant crankset is strong enough for the occasional rock bash and prevents chain drops with the help of an e.Thirteen ISCG-mounted LG1 chainguide. Quad-piston brake calipers clamp down hard on the 200mm rotors for incredible stopping power. SRAM GX drivetrain components provide downhill-specific functionality, including a Mini Block 11-25 cassette. A custom tuned Fox VAN RC Coil rear shock provides low compression/rebound adjustment and perfectly harmonizes with the Floating Link rear pivot design. With a dual-crown Fox FIT4 Performance Elite fork providing 203mm of suspension, the Gambler 720 is ready for some serious gravity riding. Additionally, the stiffer feeling rear end provides better and more consistent cornering traction over traditional axle designs. A keyed interface of the rear axle and dropouts prevents the rear ends of the bike coming loose after long days at the bike park and eliminates the need for pinch bolts on the rear axle. There are two chainstay length settings – the longer, 440mm setup is ideal for high-speed tracks or for riders who like a planted rear end, while the shorter, 425mm setup gives the bike a lively feel and works better on tighter tracks. The bottom bracket height is adjustable by 10mm to accommodate for rider preference as well as wheel size. The headset is tuneable in 1- or 2-deg increments, with a range from 61- to 65-deg, so the ideal setup can be found for any racer on any track.
The frame uses super strong 6061 hydroformed, custom-butted aluminum and is one of the most adjustable downhill frames on the market. Following SCOTT's belief that for every track there is a correct tool, this bike was designed to be compatible with 26-inch wheels as well. Equipped with a low, slack geometry and a tweaked leverage ratio, the Gambler 720 will be able to handle everything in front of you. With 27.5-inch wheels, a custom race tuned Kashima Coated FOX Suspension and World Cup podium-proven components, this bike was built for speed. This is the rig that SCOTT-Velosolutions riders Brendan Fairclough and Gaetan Vige rely on daily. The SCOTT Gambler 720 is a no-compromises DH weapon.
